Rabbinic Judaism or Rabbinism has been the mainstream form of Judaism since the 6th century, after the codification of the Talmud. What didn't exist were the buffoonish villains of Christianity's anti-Pharisaic propaganda. The so-called hypocrisy of the Pharisees was them doing their best to keep Roman practices (like the worship of an incarnate deity) out of Judaism.
